Transformers One, the first animated prequel to the famous rivalry between the Autobots and Decepticons, will feature a star-studded voice cast including Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Jon Hamm, Laurence Fishburne, Keegan-Michael Key, and Brian Tyree Henry. 

Ramsey Naito, president of Nickelodeon Animation and Paramount Animation, expressed excitement about the project and praised the talented voice cast. “I’m so excited and proud to be working with Hasbro and eOne to bring the first animated ‘Transformers’ movie to theaters for a never-before-told story,” she said.

The animated film will be directed by Josh Cooley, who directed Toy Story 4 from a script by Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari and is confirmed to be released in theaters on July 19, 2024. 

Steven Spielberg is the executive producer alongside Michael Bay, Brian Goldner, Brian Oliver, Bradley J. Fischer, and Valerii An. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy, Tom DeSanto, Mark Vahradian, and Aaron Dem will produce.

The Transformers franchise began in 2007 with the directorial efforts of Michael Bay and starred Shia LaBeouf as a teenager caught up in a war between the Autobots and the Decepticons. The film grossed over $700 million at the box office and was followed by four sequels and a spin-off, each with varying degrees of success. The seventh installment, Transformers: The Awakening, will hit the big screen on June 7.
