The wait is finally over. Marvel has officially released the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday.
After months of anticipation, and an exclusive CinemaCon debut back in April, the trailer is now public, delivering the biggest Marvel crossover fans have ever seen.
The footage teases an all-out multiversal war as Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., emerges as the MCU’s newest threat. In one of the franchise’s most shocking twists, Downey returns to Marvel not as Iron Man, but as Doom, whose mysterious origins are still being kept under wraps.
Nearly every corner of the MCU comes together for the battle. The Avengers, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and even the X-Men unite, with fan-favorite characters like Professor X, Magneto, Mystique, Cyclops, and Gambit officially crossing into the MCU. The trailer also features Thor facing Doctor Doom and a long-awaited reunion with Chris Evans’ Captain America, marking Evans’ return to the franchise after Avengers: Endgame.
The massive ensemble cast includes Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston, Letitia Wright, Simu Liu, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, and many more, alongside legendary X-Men actors Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn, Alan Cumming, and Kelsey Grammer.
Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on December 18, with the Russo Brothers returning to direct. The story will continue one year later in Avengers: Secret Wars, setting the stage for what could become Marvel’s most ambitious saga yet.
