James Gunn reveals new DC Studios’ upcoming projects, including Superman and Batman movies

James Gunn and Peter Safran taking the helm of the new DC shared universe will cause a significant shake-up at Warner Bros. Recently, the filmmakers revealed the initial 10 titles, which will be called Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, which follows previously announced films like “Aquaman 2” and “The Flash.”

James Gunn has made a big announcement: Superman Legacy, which Gunn is writing, will hit theaters on July 11, 2025. “The Brave and The Bold” will be the first project to introduce Batman. Other exciting news includes a TV series centered around Amanda Waller (played by Viola Davis) and a Green Lanterns series.

Who will play Superman?

The actors who will play the various characters have yet to be announced. What is certain is that Henry Cavil will not return as Superman. In fact, after the British actor’s announcement on social networks, James Gunn explained that Henry Cavil was not fired from Superman.

All I can tell you right now, really, is Henry and Ben are not a part of this universe. Also important to say that Henry Cavill was not fired. Henry was just not hired to be Superman in the Superman movie. There was never a deal there for another movie.
