As of June 2023, an official trailer for The Boys Season 4 has yet to be released. However, an intriguing campaign announcement video was released, serving as a compelling teaser for the upcoming season.

The captivating footage showcases Ashley Barrett, the CEO of Vought, taking center stage. She addresses the audience, announcing that Homelander is facing trial for his heinous act of killing a civilian during the climactic finale of the previous season.

Jensen Ackles is set to make a highly anticipated return as Soldier Boy in Season 4 of The Boys. Creator Eric Kripke hinted at this exciting development, emphasizing the show’s tendency to keep doors open for characters.

Returning to the series, Simon Pegg will reprise his role as Hugh Campbell Sr., alongside the addition of Rosemarie DeWitt as Hughie’s mother. Rob Benedict and Elliot Knight have also joined the cast in undisclosed roles.

Cameron Crovetti, who portrays Homelander’s son, Ryan, has been promoted to a series regular for Season 4. 

A devoted show fan, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, will join The Boys Season 4 cast as a recurring guest star. Discussions between Morgan and Kripke are underway, although details are yet to be finalized.

New characters will also be introduced, with Valorie Curry joining as Firecracker and Susan Heyward taking on the role of Sister Sage, both without origins in the original comics.

Prime Video teased fans with two photos showcasing the new characters’ distinctive appearances. Sister Sage, played by Susan Heyward, is described as steps ahead, while Firecracker, played by Valorie Curry, has a fiery temperament.

The Boys Season 4 Plot

While an official synopsis for Season 4 of The Boys has yet to be released, show creator Eric Kripke has provided some hints about what to expect. In an interview with Collider, he revealed that the focus would revolve around Ryan, as Butcher and Homelander have compelling reasons to fight over him. 

The stakes are incredibly high, with the potential for disastrous consequences if Ryan follows in Homelander’s footsteps. On the other hand, if Butcher can guide Ryan toward the light, he could become their most potent weapon against Homelander. With family being a central theme of the show, Season 4 will delve into the dynamics between fathers and sons.

Simon Pegg says Season 4 will be more Crazier than Season 3

During the Rome premiere of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part I, Simon Pegg discussed his upcoming return to The Boys with producer Barbara Weintraub. 

Pegg’s character, Hugh Campbell Sr., was last seen in a brief video call with his son, Hughie, in Season 3. Pegg expressed his excitement about reprising his role and reuniting with Jack Quaid, who plays his on-screen son. 

The Shaun of the Dead star also revealed that Rosemarie DeWitt would portray his ex-spouse, and their characters will appear in the present day rather than through flashbacks. Pegg will feature in four episodes of Season 4. He teased that the upcoming season will be even crazier than before.

The Boys Season 4 Release Date

Regrettably, The Boys Season 4 has not received an official release date. However, fans can rest assured that this crucial information will likely be disclosed shortly, as filming for the season concluded in mid-April 2023, which means the show is in the post-production stage. The third season was released on June 3, last year, So let’s hope the good news gets delivered soon.
