Since the live-action version of the 1989 Disney classic, The Little Mermaid, published its trailer, several people on social media attacked Halle Bailey because of her Skin Color.
Since Halle Bailey was confirmed to be the live-action Ariel in The Little Mermaid, initially disclosed in 2019, some ridicule her. Even the trailer sparked so many discussions on YouTube that it has 1.6 million dislikes.
Many people condemn Disney for making this decision because it significantly differs from the original Ariel. However, Rachel Zegler, who will portray Snow White in a future live-action film, is being praised. The Colombian actress is actively supporting her colleague on Twitter because of this.

Notably, a response sent to a social media user who harshly attacked Bailey while claiming to be convinced of Zegler’s casting went viral. Rachel Zegler said:
if you don’t support my girl halle, who is the perfect ariel, you don’t support any of us.
