Fast X may be the start of a Trilogy, Says Vin Diesel

Fast X Vin Diesel

Vin Diesel, the actor who plays the lead character Dominic Toretto in the Fast & Furious franchise, has hinted that the final installment may not be as near as fans had anticipated.

Fast X, set to premiere this month, was expected to be the last film in the series. However, Diesel has given fans hope by suggesting that the final installment may be split into three parts instead of two as initially planned.

Although the franchise has been criticized for its unrealistic action sequences and storyline development, it has become a worldwide phenomenon.

The franchise had its first spinoff in 2019, Hobbs & Shaw, which was initially planned to be a separate saga due to conflicts between Dwayne Johnson and Diesel. Although the cinematic universe didn’t work out, Fast & Furious had its animated series on Netflix. Diesel wants to develop several spinoff ideas, including one starring the franchise’s women, such as Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez.

About Fast X

Fast X will tie directly into the mythology of the saga. The main villain in the film is related to Fast Five, where Dominic and his family are in Rio de Janeiro, cooperating with the forces to dethrone the mafia leader, Hernan Reyes. Years later, Reyes’s son, Dante, seeks revenge for his father’s death, pushing Dom to the limit and forcing him to choose who he will save, the main victim being Dom’s son, Brian.

The film will see the return of Vin Diesel, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, John Cena, Jason Statham, and Scott Eastwood. Jason Momoa will play the dangerous Dante, and Charlize Theron will return as Cipher, a villain from previous installments. New stars, including Brie Larson, Daniela Melchior, Alan Ritchson, and Rita Moreno as Grandma Toretto, will join them.

While the franchise’s end may not be as close as fans initially thought, they can still anticipate the upcoming film Fast X, which promises to be an action-packed and another dumb addition to the series. With a star-studded cast and a plot that ties into the saga’s mythology, fans can expect another thrilling ride from the franchise.
