On social media, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have officially announced that Bad Boys 4 is in production.

On January 31, social media was abuzz with the news that Martin Lawrence and Will Smith are reuniting for a fourth film in the Bad Boys franchise. Sony Pictures has confirmed that the untitled sequel is in early pre-production, with directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah returning to helm the project. 

The script is being written by Chris Bremner, with a star-studded list of producers and executive producers, including Jerry Bruckheimer, Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, and Jon Mone, among others.

El Arbi and Fallah previously directed the highly successful Bad Boys for Life, which grossed $426.5 million worldwide and became the fourth highest-grossing film of 2020. The franchise started in 1995 with the release of Bad Boys, directed by Michael Bay, who also directed its sequel, Bad Boys II, eight years later.
