Ryan Murphy's Monster and The Watcher Renewed at Netflix for two More Seasons

The Watcher and Monster, a Ryan Murphy-created miniseries that details the crimes perpetrated by Jeffrey Dahmer, is currently dominating Netflix’s streaming service rankings.

Netflix has chosen to renew them both as a result. While The Watcher will now only have one season, Monster will continue its anthological existence focused on serial killers for two more seasons.

The first season of “Monster” focused on the life and crimes of the notorious Cannibal and was officially named Monster – The Story of Jeffrey Dahmer. According to Netflix, the two subsequent seasons will concentrate on “other horrific people that have touched society.”

A family moves into their ideal house in the film The Watcher, which is partially based on an accurate tale. Soon after, they start receiving enigmatic letters from someone identifying as The Watcher.

Naomi Watts, Bobby Cannavale, Jennifer Coolidge, Mia Farrow, Margo Martindale, Terry Kinney, Joe Mantello, Richard Kind, and other actors are among the cast members of the first season.

Audiences can’t take their eyes off Monster and The Watcher – said Bela Bajaria, head of Netflix’s global TV. The creative team of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan in Monster and Eric Newman in The Watcher is made up of masterful storytellers who have captivated audiences worldwide.

These two series’ back-to-back strength results from Ryan’s distinctive creative voice inspiring cultural phenomena. We are excited to go on telling stories in both realms.

A major hit, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story debuted at the top of Netflix’s rankings for three weeks. According to the site, the fourth season of Stranger Things is the most popular English-language television series ever.
