Game of Thrones had a Major Spoiler to the Ending of House of the Dragon

House of the Dragon shows the origins of the Targaryen dynasty, the ancestors of Daenerys. It is based on the novel Fire and Blood, which chronicles House Targaryen of Valyria’s invasion of Westeros. About 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, they captured all of the seven kingdoms in Westeros.

Rhaenyra Targaryen’s destiny will be terrible in House of the Dragon. At the start of Game of Thrones, Joffrey Baratheon has already revealed it.

Shireen, Stannis Baratheon’s daughter, describes what has come to be known as “The Dance of Dragons,” saying that they “never recovered.” Thousands of people were dead when the conflict ended. For the Targaryens, it was a catastrophe as well.

Even in the books, Rhaenyra does suffer this terrible destiny. Joffrey Baratheon, the king of the seven kingdoms, also indicates the grim conclusion of House of the Dragon. Sadly, despite how much we despise Joffrey, he was telling the truth.

Margaery Tyrell, his fiancée, is shown about the Red Keep fortress by Joffrey. With her, he delved into the Targaryen family mythology as well as the history of the Iron Throne. He also used the occasion to provide graphic detail about Princess Rhaenyra’s death in Dance of the Dragons.

Rhaenyra Targaryen was murdered by her brother, or rather his dragon. It ate her while her son watched. What’s left of her is buried in the crypts right down there.”, “Over there, in that urn, the ashes of Aerion Targaryen. Aerion Brightflame, they called him. He thought drinking wildfire would turn him into a dragon. He was wrong. And, of course, there’s the mad king killed by my uncle.”
