Fantastic Four: Adam Driver to play Reed Richards?

Fantastic Four Adam Driver Reed Richards

According to a rumor that is gaining traction, Marvel Studios is reportedly considering Adam Driver for the role of Reed Richards, the smartest man alive in Marvel Comics, also known as Mister Fantastic, in the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. The Direct reported the news, which cited sources close to the reboot’s production and casting who named Adam Driver as the “top choice” for the role.

The star wars actor has been previously linked to a Marvel project. Last October, rumors of his potential involvement in the Fantastic Four reboot surfaced online, sparking excitement among fans who eagerly imagined the possibility of an actor of his caliber joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as the return of the beloved superhero team, who have had a rocky history on the big screen. Marvel Studios has yet to comment publicly on this information.

These rumors have surfaced following the news that John Krasinski will not be returning to his role as Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic in Fantastic Four reboot, despite his small but significant appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Krasinski portrayed an “alternate” version of Reed Richards in the 2022 film, leading many MCU fans to believe he would reprise the role in future projects. The Office actor, John Krasinski, has since denied any possibility of his return to the role of Mr. Fantastic, stating that there have been no discussions with Marvel Studios regarding his future in the MCU.

With Krasinski no longer being considered for the role, several other actors are being considered for the role of Reed Richards and Adam Driver. One such candidate is Diego Luna from Disney+’s acclaimed series Andor.

The Fantastic Four reboot is planned to be released on February 14, 2025.
