Chris Hemsworth, the renowned Australian actor, has been seeking new opportunities and is ready to step aside from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Hemsworth has been portraying the iconic role of Thor since 2011; he recently expressed his exhaustion with the character and his desire to move on from the MCU. After his most recent appearance in “Thor: Love and Thunder,” released last year, Hemsworth exhibited impatience with his involvement in the Marvel universe.

In a recent interview with British GQ, he shared his longing for a fluid and emotional evolution of the superhero’s characterization.

“I love the experience. I love the fact that I’ve been able to do something fairly different throughout the process. Thor 1 and 2 were their own thing, Thor 3 and 4 were a very different feel, and then even Avengers, the Lebowski Thor, the Infinity War Thor, due to different directors and I think mostly my own need to do something different. You know, I got sick of the character pretty quick every couple of years.”

The actor emphasized that he would only consider returning as Thor if offered an alternative and refreshing take on the character, as he believes the audience is now tired of the same formulaic approach. The extraction star expressed his readiness to embrace new challenges beyond the confines of the superhero genre, indicating his eagerness to explore different avenues in his career.

“If I was going to do something again it would have to be tonally different. And we’d have to do something very drastic to keep people on their toes. Otherwise it’s just the fatigue of those characters and those films, where people are like, ‘I’ve seen it.’ But, I really wanna do some other stuff for a while.”
