Disney unveiled the first teaser for The Little Mermaid, the live-action adaptation of the Little Mermaid a few days ago. The studio already has another princess tale in the works, Snow White, following the commercial and critical successes of Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast.
In the tale of Snow White, a lovely princess is abandoned in the care of her stepmother, the Evil Queen, following her father’s passing. The queen comes up with a scheme to assassinate Snow White because she is envious of her beauty. She then pays a hunter to pursue her into the forest and murder her, but he cannot. When Snow White gets away from her, she encounters seven dwarfs, a poisoned apple, and a prince who gives her a “kiss of love” to awaken her from her sleep.
Rachel Zegler will play the title role in the new Snow White, while Gal Gadot will play the Evil Queen. Martin Klebba will play Grouchy, one of the historical seven dwarfs.
Marc Webb, well-known for his work on The Amazing Spider-Man, will direct the Movie. Erin Cressida and Greta Gerwig will write the screenplay for the film.
The Movie’s narrative will probably undergo some more changes because Disney has promised that the new adaptation of the classic would be a fresh adaptation for the times.
The release of the 2021-shot new Snow White was anticipated at Disney’s D23 Expo. As stated, the Movie will be released on March 22, 2024.
