Chris Hemsworth wants Thor 5 to have a More Serious Tone compared to Previous Instalments

Chris Hemsworth Thor 5

Chris Hemsworth has played various roles in film and television. Still, he is most known for playing Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor has been lending his face to one of the cinematic industry’s symbolic icons since 2011. Hemsworth has recently experienced some rather significant alterations, which is why Chris Hemsworth wants Thor 5 to have a More Serious Tone compared to Previous Instalments.

Since 2011, Chris Hemsworth has played Thor in the MCU. As later confirmed in Avengers: Endgame (2019), but especially in the most recent Thor: Love and Thunder, director Taika Waititi has chosen to give him a more pronounced humorous push.

In a recent interview with Josh Horowitz for his Happy Sad Confused podcast, Chris addressed this. He said that he would prefer a new revolution in Thor 5 because the audience runs the danger of becoming disinterested.

You look at Thor one and two; they were pretty similar. Ragnarok and Love & Thunder: are identical. It’s about reinventing it. And I had such a unique opportunity with Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame to do some very drastic things with the character; I like this. I want to keep people on their toes and keep me on their toes; it keeps me engaged.

And I’ve said this before: when it gets too familiar, there’s a risk of getting lazy, I think, like, ‘Ah, I know what I’m doing,’ you know? So I don’t know – again. I don’t even know if I will be invited back. But if you were, I think it would have to be a drastically different take: tone, everything. If only for my sanity.

Last Thor Movie

Hemsworth said he was “completely open” to another Thor movie in case there’s something unique, fresh, and unexpected to do with the character and the world.

The only thing the actor hasn’t said he’s open to is working with a “crazy genius” director. I’ve always loved making them. I am very grateful that I could do something different every time – he said.

Four months, five months of shooting, and then you have the press, possible reshoots, etc. I’m right at the point where I meet different directors, and people say, “Oh yeah, look, he’s a crazy genius. He’s crazy, but he’s a genius and will make great movies.” And I think: “Is it with him that I want to spend my days?”

Chris Hemsworth to take a Break from Acting after discovering Alzheimer’s Predisposition

The series, produced by Darren Aronofsky and starring Hemsworth for Disney+, examines cutting-edge research challenging conventional wisdom about the human body. It offers fascinating insights into how we can use the superpowers of our bodies to fend off illness, perform better, and even delay aging.

In an episode of Limitless, Hemsworth discovers during a physical examination that he carries genetic markers that increase his risk of developing the condition by eight to ten times.
