The defamation case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard was one of the most talked-about events. Johnny Depp sued Amber Heard for slandering him in a 2018 article in the Washington Post, in which she said she had been a victim of domestic violence. Depp won the case he brought against his ex-wife Amber Heard in the end. The drama doesn’t seem to be ending soon. Johnny Depp has now filed an appeal against the $2 million defamation award a Virginia jury gave his ex-wife Amber Heard at their trial in June. This news comes a day after Amber announced that she wanted to appeal the verdict in Johnny’s defamation trial against her.

JOHNNY DEPP COUNTERS DAMAGES AWARDED TO AMBER HEARD

Deadline says that Johnny Depp has filed paperwork in Fairfax County to fight the $2 million defamation award. Last month, at the end of their trial in Virginia, the jury gave this money to Amber Heard. The four-page notice of appeal said, “Plaintiff and Counterclaim-Defendant John C. Depp, II, by counsel, at this moment, all unfavourable findings and the ultimate judgment order of this Circuit Court, entered on June 24, 2022, to the Court of Appeals of Virginia.

Johnny’s appeal is a response to Amber’s appeal from July 21. According to Deadline, it is an attempt to get back the $2 million award that a Virginia jury gave Amber in her $100 million countersuit against Johnny and his $50 million complaint from 2019.
